Director's Message
Spring is just around the corner, and with it comes longer days, blooming flowers, and so many opportunities for fun and learning! We are looking forward to outdoor adventures, hands-on projects, and celebrating the season together. From engaging classroom activities to special springtime events, there’s so much to be excited about at Happy Hall!
Spring is also a time of change, and we are experiencing a few shifts in our classrooms as well. Ms. Selma is taking time to care for her mother, and while we will miss her presence in the Elm class, Ms. Esa has stepped in to lead learning activities. We hope to welcome Selma back soon, but in the meantime, we appreciate everyone’s flexibility and support.
To help balance our team, Ms. Darlene is now in the Oak Room, supporting Ms. Rosa while Ms. Esa leads in Elm. Over in the Pine Room, Ms. Kathy is holding down the fort with the help of Ms. Alyssa on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and Ms. Sophie on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We are excited to introduce Ms. Sophie to the Happy Hall Dolores Way community! She brings years of early childhood experience and even completed her practicum at our Santa Inez location. After recently moving back to the Bay Area, we feel so lucky to have her join our team. Please give her a warm welcome when you see her!
Thank you all for your continued support and flexibility. We are grateful for our incredible staff and families who make Happy Hall such a special place!
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
In February we discussed the presidents, learned about money and talked about the life skill of caring. We also celebrated friendships and our love for family. Thank you so much for donating a little bit of fruit for our friendship fruit salad. We spoke about how we are all different like different types of fruit, but are so much better when we get together just like our fruit salad! We hope everyone enjoyed opening their valentines at home too. Valentine's Day was a lot of fun.
We are starting to plan our summer camp fun. I have booked a petting zoo, Insect Discovery Lab and a foam party. We are also going to be planning summer activities that use lots of materials. In April you will be charged our annual summer activity fee of $75. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Professional Development
On February 21, our teachers came together to collaborate and plan exciting upcoming events, including our Multicultural Celebration and Spring Egg Hunt. We also kicked off preparations for a summer filled with fun and engaging activities! It’s truly inspiring to see our team share their talents, brainstorm creative ideas, and work together to enhance both our curriculum and classroom environments. Their dedication and teamwork make Happy Hall a special place for our children to learn and grow!
Community Events
Sunday, April 6 – Rocket Dog Rescue Adoption Event (11:30 AM – 2 PM)Join us at our Santa Inez location for a special dog adoption and foster event in partnership with Rocket Dog Rescue! We’ll have art activities, preschool tours, and the opportunity to meet adoptable dogs.
If you’ve been considering adding a furry family member or just want to come play and explore our other preschool location, we’d love to see you there!
My own furry child is a Rocket Dog Rescue alumni, and I highly recommend the experience of adopting.
