Director's Message
Happy October to all Happy Hall families! I hope your fall season is off to a great start! We have some fun and engaging activities lined up for this month, and we look forward to watching the children continue to grow and thrive in our program over the coming weeks! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
October is shaping up to be an exciting month as we immerse ourselves in the themes of harvest and Halloween. Our seasonal decorations are bringing the festive spirit alive, and we’re enjoying transforming our space with pumpkins, colorful leaves, and spooky Halloween elements. In addition to decorating, we’ve been introducing some fun ice experiments to cool off during the unseasonably warm October days. These sensory-rich activities add a refreshing twist to our exploration, making science both fun and engaging.
As we move through the month, we’ll continue to dive into creative art projects, crafting festive Halloween decorations and experimenting with hands-on science activities. Our experiments will take on a spooky twist, combining the excitement of the season with a bit of educational magic. From bubbling potions to eerie slime creations, October promises to be a time of creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning that will captivate everyone’s imagination.
Looking ahead to November, our focus will remain on the harvest as we transition into Thanksgiving. We’ll explore the traditions of this holiday, while also incorporating new topics, such as outer space and the planets in our solar system for Oak and Elm and musical instruments in Pine. Our activities will range from learning about the importance of being grateful for all we have, to exploring many different types of instruments, to crafting space-themed projects that bring the wonders of the universe closer to home. November promises to be a month filled with discovery and music as we balance seasonal traditions with our curiosity about the cosmos.
Professional Development
On October 14 we will be closed for Indigenous Peoples Day and our Staff Development. Teachers will be preparing for Learning in Action, working together on child portfolios and updating their classrooms. We will also be meeting to discuss upcoming curriculum and events. We hope you enjoy the extra day to the weekend!

We could use your help with donations to make this day extra special! We are asking for:
Paper grocery bags (we'll decorate them for trick-or-treating)
Small toys or nut-free candies for trick-or-treating. If every child brings 12 small toys or candies, we will have plenty for everyone to trick-or-treat multiple times!
