Happy Hall @ Green Hills Newsletter | December

Director's Message

Happy December, Happy Hall families! As we enter the final month of the year, we’re excited for all the fun and festive activities we have planned for this month. From holiday crafts to seasonal events, our program is filled with opportunities for your child to learn, grow, and make lasting memories.

Thank you for being a part of our after-school community. We look forward to celebrating the season together!

Program Highlights

Engagement Activities

In December, we will begin our theme of "Reactions and Mixtures", offering hands-on, immersive experiences with basic chemical reactions and mixtures. This theme helps students develop a foundational understanding of chemical principles, encouraging them to conduct experiments and observe their outcomes. Later in the month, we will transition to our theme of "Oceans and Marine Life", exploring the fascinating world of marine biodiversity. Students will gain a deeper appreciation for marine ecosystems, the importance of conservation, and the crucial roles different species play in maintaining ecological balance.

Reminders

  • Please remind students that toys, collectibles, and other personal items from home shouldn’t be brought to Happy Hall, as we cannot be held responsible for any lost, broken, or stolen items.

  • Our lost and found collection is growing! Please come by to check if your child is missing a jacket or a water bottle, we will donate all items that do not find a home by the end of the year!

  • If your child will be absent from Happy Hall, please inform us via text, email, or through 1Core.

Looking Ahead

At the start of the new year, we will introduce our curriculum themes of "Inventors and Inventions" and "Movie Magic." The "Inventors and Inventions" theme will explore groundbreaking innovations and their creators across different historical periods. It aims to foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills by examining the processes and motivations behind major inventions. The "Movie Magic" theme will delve into the process of making a movie, giving students insight into the magic behind filmmaking.
