Director's Message
Happy March Happy Hall - Lomita Park Families!! I hope everyone has been doing well and keeping warm/cool in these continuous unprecedented and fluctuating weather conditions! Given the fluctuation in weather, as a precautionary measure we ask if families can supply extra clothing in the event any clothes get wet or need to be changed. We look forward to the fun activities we have planned with the kids this month and can’t wait for them to share their creations and experiences with you!
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
This month, the themes of our curriculum this month are , “Health & Well-Being", “Mystery Investigators” and “Olympic Competitors". Some of the topics that we will be learning about are: “Balanced Lifestyle”, “The Clue Quest”, “Mystery Unlocked”, and much more! The students will be getting to learn about interesting facts about each of the topics and dive into some fun and engaging steam activities!
Professional Development
Our upcoming Staff Development during Spring Camp will focus on Summer Camp training. Staff will have the opportunity to strengthen their skills in safety, leadership, summer workshops, and social-emotional activities—key components of our summer camp program. Additionally, we will incorporate team-building exercises to support our continued growth as a team and community.
Reminders
Spring Break (March 31st - April 4th, 2025) – School will be closed, but Happy Hall will be having a full camp week, please make sure to register ASAP once the application is sent out
Sunday, April 6 – Rocket Dog Rescue Adoption Event (11:00 AM – 2 PM)
Join us at our Santa Inez location for a special dog adoption and foster event in partnership with Rocket Dog Rescue! We’ll have art activities, preschool tours, and the opportunity to meet adoptable dogs.
Please remember that toys are not allowed at Happy Hall as we are not liable for any lost, stolen or broken items. We want to ensure no children have this happen to them and this will help us reduce this from occurring. We appreciate your cooperation very much! If you have any questions, please let us know!
Please send us an email whenever your child(ren) will not be attending the after school program (lomitapark@happyhall.com). This way we know they will not be joining us for Happy Hall. In the event we do not receive notification, we will follow up with a phone call home to inquire about their whereabouts, to ensure they are safe. In addition, if we do not know that your child will be absent and we do not receive notification, after 7 unexcused absences, students will be removed from the program.
For AM care, students should only arrive between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:30 am. In addition, students who arrive after 7:30 am are marked late; after 7 late arrivals students will be removed from that program specifically, but would still be able to attend the after school program if they are enrolled there as well. For families arriving late, please be sure to fill out the form we have on site and if it is an excusable reason, it will be excused.
If you ever need to pick up your student early, please ensure you are signing the early pickup form, which is located at the sign-out cart in the MUR. If it is not there, please make sure to ask a staff member to grab it for you. As a reminder, if students are picked up early 7 times without this document being filled in, they will be removed from the program as well.
If you wish for your child to walk home, you must complete our Walk-Home Authorization Form. This form must be completed for each student. If you need any assistance or have any questions, please reach out to us and we will be happy to help you!
