Happy October Lomita Park Happy Hall Families! I hope your fall is off to a fantastic start! We look forward to this month and all the exciting things we have planned for the students! As always, if you ever have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out!
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
For October, we’re excited to finish our adventure through the theme of Space Exploration and progress into our next theme Weather & Seasons. Students will engage in activities that deepen their understanding of the weather and how it changes through the seasons. From collaborative projects to local explorations, it’s going to be a month filled with learning and fun.
Professional Development
This month of October Happy Hall staff will be attending a staff development training on October 14th. Within this staff development training, staff will be working alongside our administrative team and reviewing various topics on how to ensure the overall effectiveness of our after school programs. In addition, staff will be able to continue to enhance their skills to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
Community Events
Fall Family Fun Day
Event Overview: Fall Family Fun Day is designed to provide parents and students an opportunity to spend quality time together while engaging in a fun, creative activity. This event will span four days, with a different group of students and their parents attending each day. Families will work together to decorate pumpkins using a variety of art supplies.
Please keep a look out for a separate email regarding days and times!

Reminders
We would love to remind Happy Hall Lomita Park Families regarding the following:
Please send us an email whenever your child(ren) will not be attending the after school program. This way we know they will not be joining us for Happy Hall. In the event we do not receive notification, we will follow up with a phone call home to inquire about their whereabouts, to ensure they are safe. In addition, if we do not know that your child will be absent and we do not receive notification, after 7 unexcused absences, students will be removed from the program.
For AM care, students should only arrive between the hours of 7am and 7:30am.. In addition, students who arrive after 7:30am are marked late; after 7 late arrivals students will be removed from that program specifically, but would still be able to attend the after school program if they are enrolled there as well.
If you ever need to pick up your student early, please ensure you are signing the early pickup form, which is located at the sign-out cart in the MUR. If it is not there, please make sure to ask a staff member to grab it for you. As a reminder, if students are picked up early 7 times without this document being filled in, they will be removed from the program as well.
If you wish for your child to walk home, you must complete our Walk-Home Authorization Form. This form must be completed for each student. If you need any assistance or have any questions, please reach out to us and we will be happy to help you!

Looking Ahead
We’re excited to announce our new curriculum theme, “Wonders of the World”! Starting next month, students will embark on a global journey to explore both natural and man-made marvels. This theme encourages critical thinking about how these wonders were formed or created, as well as their significance to different cultures. Get ready for engaging activities, fascinating discussions, and a deeper appreciation of our planet's incredible diversity! Stay tuned for more updates!

Aspectos Destacados del Programa
Actividades de Participación
Para octubre, estamos emocionados de terminar nuestra aventura a través del tema de la Exploración Espacial y avanzar hacia nuestro próximo tema: Clima y Estaciones. Los estudiantes participarán en actividades que profundizan su comprensión sobre el clima y cómo cambia a través de las estaciones. Desde proyectos colaborativos hasta exploraciones locales, será un mes lleno de aprendizaje y diversión.
Desarrollo Professional
Este mes de octubre, el personal de Happy Hall asistirá a una capacitación de desarrollo profesional el 14 de octubre. Dentro de esta capacitación, el personal trabajará junto a nuestro equipo administrativo y revisará varios temas sobre cómo asegurar la efectividad general de nuestros programas extracurriculares. Además, el personal podrá continuar mejorando sus habilidades para garantizar la seguridad y el bienestar de nuestros estudiantes.
Eventos Comunitarios
Día de Diversión Familiar de Otoño
Descripción del Evento: El Día de Diversión Familiar de Otoño está diseñado para brindar a padres y estudiantes la oportunidad de pasar tiempo de calidad juntos mientras participan en una actividad creativa y divertida. Este evento se llevará a cabo durante cuatro días, con un grupo diferente de estudiantes y sus padres asistiendo cada día. Las familias trabajarán juntas para decorar calabazas utilizando una variedad de suministros de arte.

Hasta ahora, este mes, los siguientes estudiantes han sido reconocidos como ESTUDIANTES ESTRELLA. Los ESTUDIANTES ESTRELLA son aquellos identificados cada semana por representar las 4 B’s de Lomita Park, utilizando las habilidades de vida que revisamos diariamente, ayudando a otros estudiantes y/o personal, etc.

Recordatorios
Nos gustaría recordar a las familias de Happy Hall en Lomita Park lo siguiente:
Por favor, envíenos un correo electrónico siempre que su(s) hijo(s) no asista(n) al programa extracurricular. De esta manera, sabremos que no se unirán a nosotros en Happy Hall. En caso de que no recibamos notificación, haremos un seguimiento con una llamada telefónica a casa para preguntar sobre su paradero y asegurarnos de que estén seguros. Además, si no sabemos que su hijo estará ausente y no recibimos notificación, después de 7 ausencias no justificadas, los estudiantes serán retirados del programa.
Para el cuidado de la mañana, los estudiantes deben llegar solo entre las 7:00 a.m. y las 7:30 a.m. Además, los estudiantes que lleguen después de las 7:30 a.m. serán marcados como tardíos; después de 7 llegadas tardías, los estudiantes serán retirados de ese programa en específico, pero aún podrán asistir al programa extracurricular si también están inscritos allí.
Si alguna vez necesita recoger a su estudiante temprano, asegúrese de firmar el formulario de recogida anticipada, que se encuentra en el carrito de salida en el MUR. Si no está allí, por favor pida a un miembro del personal que se lo traiga. Como recordatorio, si los estudiantes son recogidos temprano 7 veces sin que este documento esté completo, también serán retirados del programa.
Si desea que su hijo regrese a casa caminando, debe completar nuestro Formulario de Autorización para Caminar a Casa. Este formulario debe completarse para cada estudiante. Si necesita ayuda o tiene preguntas, ¡no dude en comunicarse con nosotros y estaremos encantados de ayudarle!

Mirando Hacia el Futuro
¡Estamos emocionados de anunciar nuestro nuevo tema curricular, "Maravillas del Mundo"! A partir del próximo mes, los estudiantes emprenderán un viaje global para explorar tanto maravillas naturales como creadas por el hombre. Este tema fomenta el pensamiento crítico sobre cómo se formaron o crearon estas maravillas, así como su importancia para diferentes culturas. ¡Prepárense para actividades atractivas, discusiones fascinantes y una apreciación más profunda de la increíble diversidad de nuestro planeta! ¡Estén atentos para más actualizaciones!
