Director's Message
Marvelous March is Here!
I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the spring-like weather! I’m continuing to recover and will be working from home a bit longer as I heal. If you need anything, please feel free to reach out via email. In the meantime, Emma is on-site to support families, children, and staff with any daily needs. I look forward to returning and seeing you all soon!
As we step into this month with spring in the air and just a few months left in the school year, we hope you continue to enjoy having your children in our program. We strive to provide a balance of academic, social-emotional, physical, and artistic experiences for all.
We’re excited to share that we have received a set of 32 Chromebooks from the district for our groups to use for homework and other activities. These will primarily support our 3rd–5th graders, as their homework tends to be more extensive at this stage. We look forward to integrating this new resource into our program!
It is with great sadness that I announce Mr. Jaden’s last day will be March 13. He has accepted a position in his field of study, and while we will miss him tremendously, we are so excited for this next chapter in his career. We are deeply grateful for Jaden and all the dedication, hard work, and care he has put into supporting the Meadows students, staff, and families. His impact has been truly appreciated, and he will be greatly missed. During this transition, Mr. Costa and Ms. Lauren will be supporting Mr. Ali with Group 2 to ensure continuity and a smooth adjustment. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please join us in wishing Jaden all the best!
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
This month, our curriculum continues with the themes of Health & Well-Being, Mystery Investigation, and Olympic Competitors. Each theme will feature engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, and movement.
Health & Well-Being: Balanced Lifestyle
This week, activities will focus on making healthy choices and staying active. Children will have fun creating tortilla wraps and felt pizzas, playing Would You Rather: Food Edition, participating in Hula Hoop Twister, and building food cars, among other engaging activities.
Mystery Investigation
This theme will encourage problem-solving, teamwork, and critical thinking through Clue Quest and Mystery Unlocked activities.
In Clue Quest, children will dive into mystery-themed challenges, including Mystery Art, Sneak & React, Detective Dodgeball, Spy Training Obstacle Course, Who Took the Dragon Fruit?, and Secret Codes. Mystery Unlocked will bring additional excitement with activities such as Secret Word Game, Hot or Cold, Mystery Art, Mystery Number Tag, and Fingerprinting.
Olympic Competitors: Going for Gold
Inspired by the Olympics, this theme will highlight athleticism, teamwork, and history. Children will explore the history of the Olympics, practice soccer drills and volleyball, compete in Olympic relays, create Olympic necklaces, and race balloon bobsleds.
We’re looking forward to a month filled with fun, learning, and exploration!
Professional Development
Our upcoming Staff Development during Spring Camp will focus on Summer Camp training. Staff will have the opportunity to strengthen their skills in safety, leadership, summer workshops, and social-emotional activities—key components of our summer camp program. Additionally, we will incorporate team-building exercises to support our continued growth as a team and community.
Community Events
Sunday, April 6 – Rocket Dog Rescue Adoption Event (11:00 AM – 2 PM)
Join us at our Santa Inez location for a special dog adoption and foster event in partnership
with Rocket Dog Rescue! We’ll have art activities, preschool tours, and the opportunity to
meet adoptable dogs.
If you’ve been considering adding a furry family member or just want to come play and explore our other preschool location, we’d love to see you there!
We will be holding our annual Egg Hunt on April 16th. Please take a moment to check out our wish list for the event, posted at all entrances.
This annual tradition gives our fifth graders a special opportunity to demonstrate responsibility, role modeling, and creativity as they hide the eggs. Meanwhile, our younger children enjoy the excitement of searching for eggs while practicing their counting skills as they collect them.
Everyone comes together for the golden egg hunt, where staff carefully hide special eggs. This experience helps children learn patience and understand that not everyone will find one, while still embracing the joy of the event. It's always a day filled with fun, laughter, and memorable moments for all!
Reminders
March 31- April 4 - Spring Camp
A gentle reminder to ensure your child says goodbye to their teacher and friends when signing out. This helps staff confirm they were picked up safely while also fostering kindness and connections with their peers.
Looking Ahead
Fall registration will be opening soon! Keep an eye on our website and announcements so you don’t miss the opportunity to be part of the new school year with us.
