Director's Message

Happy New Year, Happy Hall Ortega Families!

We hope you had a great holiday season and enjoyed time with your families. We’re excited to start the new year with our staff and students ready for all the fun ahead. Thank you for being part of our wonderful community, and we look forward to all the exciting activities we have planned for the coming months!

Program Highlights

Engagement Activities

At the start of January, our school-age students will conclude our theme on Oceans & Marine Life. In the coming weeks, we will introduce a new theme: Inventions & Inventors. Our school-age students will first engage in activities exploring the wonders of oceans and marine life, followed by a focus on groundbreaking innovations and their inventors throughout history. This progression encourages critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving.

Meanwhile, in preschool, our students will immerse themselves in the world of snowy winter and Arctic animals. Alongside this exploration, they will focus on learning the letters Z, C, and O through engaging activities that promote early literacy skills, creativity, and curiosity about the world around them.

Community Events

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents who joined us for our December activities. It was truly wonderful seeing everyone at both our school-age Winter Party and our preschool Gingerbread House Making event. The students had a fantastic time, and it was a joy to see families engaging in the fun holiday activities together. Your participation made these events even more special, and we are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the season with all of you!

Student Achievements

We are so proud of our students and their amazing achievements! Our preschoolers have worked hard and filled the first half of their life skills rainbow, earning them a well-deserved holiday PJ movie party. They had a blast watching The Grinch, sipping hot cocoa, and decorating sugar cookies to celebrate their success.

Meanwhile, our school-age students are also putting in great effort, earning life skills tickets and working towards earning points for their own special parties. We’re excited to see their continued progress and can’t wait to celebrate even more achievements in the coming months!

Reminders

  • Please remind students that toys, collectibles, and other personal items from home should not be brought to Happy Hall, as we cannot be held responsible for any lost, broken, or stolen items.

  • Our lost and found collection is growing! Please stop by to check if your child is missing a jacket, water bottle, or other belongings.

  • If your child will be absent from Happy Hall, please notify us via text, email, or through 1Core. Also, kindly take a moment to review our sick policy. If your child needs to leave early due to illness, please try to pick them up as soon as possible.

Looking Ahead

As we move into February, school-age students will focus on maintaining healthy hearts through positive habits and mindsets. They’ll also explore fun activities from the past as part of our STEAM curriculum.

Preschool students will also start learning about healthy hearts, along with celebrating Groundhog Day and Lunar New Year through engaging activities.

Please note, we will be closed on January 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
