Happy New Year, Happy Hall families! I hope you all had a joyful holiday season and are ready to kick off the new year with enthusiasm and excitement. January brings fresh beginnings and new opportunities for growth. As we settle back into our routine, we’re thrilled to continue fostering a positive, enriching environment for all our students. This month, we’ll focus on the wonders of winter and the exciting activities we have planned!
Program Highlights
Engagement Activities
This month, our after-school program at Sunset Ridge will dive into the beauty and science of winter. We’ll explore "Winter Wonders and Exploration," marking Theme 7 of our curriculum. Students will engage in a variety of winter-themed activities, including:
Snow Science: Exploring the science behind snow, ice, and frost with hands-on experiments
Winter Wildlife: Learning about animals that thrive in cold climates and creating animal-themed crafts
Building Snowmen: Crafting mini snowmen from cotton balls, marshmallows, and other materials
Frozen Art: Creating ice paintings and experimenting with freezing different materials
Winter Games: Indoor snowball fights (with soft materials) and obstacle courses inspired by winter sports
These activities are designed to enhance our STEAM curriculum, inspire creativity, and promote teamwork. We’ll also encourage our students to embrace the chilly weather by appreciating the beauty and wonder of winter.
Student Achievements
Congratulations to our Student of the Month for January, Mahia Dupont! Mahia received the “Exploration Award” for her curiosity and willingness to engage in every activity with excitement and enthusiasm. Great job,Mahia!
